Dr. Landon, Pastor, was born in rural central Michigan.  He attended Taylor University in Upland,  Indiana where he earned his B.A. degree in sociology / social work.  He did his theological studies at Northwestern University and Christian Theological Seminary; obtained a Master of Social Work degree from  Indiana University and a Ph.D. degree from Ball State University.  He was ordained to the ministry in 1960.  Dr. Landon has served churches continuously since that date and was a full time faculty member at several universities including teaching for nearly thirty years at the University of Kentucky.  He has also taught at  theological seminaries including  Southern Baptist Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky.  Dr. Landon has also recorded a total of thirty professional recordings of organ music, has published five books and served as organist of several of the churches which he pastored.

Mel serves as Administrative Assistant and is in charge of various administrative duties in the church including updating the church website, electronic membership records, and scheduling weddings and use of the sanctuary.  She graduated from Georgetown College with a BA in Religion.  She currently lives in Frankfort and has been dating her boyfriend, Jonathan, for 4 years.  She started working at Gardenside in 2007.  You may email her at gardensidebaptist@gmail.com

David Dale is the Minister of Music and Senior Adults at Gardenside. He is an Oklahoma native and has degrees from Oklahoma Baptist University (Bachelor of Music Education) and the University of Oklahoma (Master of Music).   He accepted God’s call to the music ministry while attending Falls Creek Baptist Camp in Oklahoma at the age of thirteen. 

           David has served in churches throughout Oklahoma   and    Kentucky   and   has   been   involved in Church Music in both state and local levels.  He has been active as a composer, worship leader , guest conductor , clinician, and accompanist in various conferences and events in local, state, and national Baptist gatherings.

           His personal view of Music Ministry within the church  is to enlist, equip, provide spiritual training, educate, and lead men, women and children to be effective worship leaders and participants.  A natural focus of effective Music Ministry is to provide  the church with unique opportunities for outreach into the community and beyond.  In keeping with that view, David has led Gardenside to form various performance groups that consistently tour and present concerts and programs in community events and around the country.  He has also led in the founding of The Lexington Passion Play, a large scale musical drama that helps share the gospel with our community and many guest.

             David and his wife Marla, have three children involved in ministry and missions.

Stephen Vedro is the Director of Youth Ministries.  He started working at Gardenside June 2008.  He has a BA in Biblical Studies from Criswell College.  He is currently working on his Master of Divinity from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville.  He and his wife, Nikki, are both proud to be native Texans. They have been married for three years and are expecting their first child in January.
